Scotland Deanery: West Region Locum appointments for Training (LAT) in Old Age Psychiatry x 2ST4 in Old Age Psychiatry, West RegionThese two above vacancies, available from 3rd February 2021, currently exist within the West Region of the Scotland Deanery in:NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde NHS Lanarkshire These posts hold Educational approval from the Postgraduate Dean and will be Locum Appointment in Training (LAT).You will be expected to participate in providing holistic care to the over 65 population and will gain experience in the assessment, diagnosis and management of organic and functional illness in this population, in a variety of setting including OPC/care homes and Liaison. You will gain experience of both outpatient and inpatient psychiatry and be expected to work across both MDT’s. You will be expected to be section 22 trained and gain experience of both the MHA and AWI acts at a more senior level. As a Higher trainee you will have a special interest and research session and be able to attend local and regional teaching. You will be expected to participate in both appraisal and the ARCP process and on receipt of a satisfactory ARCP outcome you could apply to have this six months to count towards training. You will still need to apply via National recruitment to complete the rest of your training. On call will be on the second on GGC Psychiatry out of hours rota.Please note that a minimum of 36 Months Core Level Psychiatry Training in the United Kingdom is required for all posts in this recruitment round. You will need to have passed all postgraduate exams in psychiatry (paper A, paper B and the CASC) to be eligible to apply for a LAT post.
