Job Description

Legal Counsel - £60-£70K - Fully remoteAn exciting opportunity to work for a reputable travel organisation who are seeking an experienced lawyer for the position of UK Legal Counsel for their UK operations. The UK Legal Counsel will primarily be responsible for supporting the UK operations legalneeds with respect to commercial, compliance and regulatory matters, and for handling day to day legal issues affecting the company.Legal Counsel Responsibilities

  • Support the UK executive leadership teams of the UK entities on internal projects including reporting, training, and risk management activities
  • Provide accurate, relevant, and timely advice that is business-focused / innovative on a variety of legal matters, along with contributing to developing / implementing the strategy
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, including supplier, property, independent contractor, customer, software, license, and other commercial agreements.
  • Anticipate and mitigate potential legal problems within the organisation and develop strategies to avoid costly litigation and reduce potential areas of risk
  • Reviewing marketing materials, websites & presentations to ensure compliance with regulations
  • SAFI insurance renewals / claims overview
  • IATA approvals
  • H&S - Supplier audits compliance
Legal Counsel Requirements
  • A relevant Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent
  • A UK qualified lawyer who is eligible to practice as a Solicitor throughout the UK
  • Significant legal PQE experience
  • In house legal experience
  • Experience of internal and external stakeholder management building and owning relationships
  • Experience in the travel industry, preferred but not essential
  • Experience working on matters of corporate governance and with a board of directors
