Salary : Grade 7/8/9: £37,474 - £42,155 / £46,047 - £53,353 / £54,949 - £61,823 per annumOur client is an energetic and growing international centre of excellence for engineering research and teaching. The School leads research in Autonomous Systems & Connectivity (including Aerospace); Biomedical Engineering; Electronics and Nanoscale Engineering;Infrastructure and Environment; and Systems, Power and Energy. They have in the region of 170 academics and 190 researchers supported by approximately 70 technicians and 40 professional services staff. Currently, they have ~500 research students working towardsdoctorates.They are seeking to fill a position for an ambitious academic to join the Division of Systems, Power and Energy, specifically related to Geo-Energy Systems for the acceleration of the geo-energy transition. Example research areas include: resource assessmentfor the strategic modelling and planning of net-zero production and storage projects; reconciliation of subsurface potential with surface demand/supply; repurposing of legacy energy assets; managing potential synergies, interactions and overlaps of subsurfaceuses. Expertise of the successful applicant may span: opportunity mapping based on geological, petrophysical and geophysical characterisation of the subsurface; development of modelling and/or experimental best-practices to de-risk the subsurface; integrationof physical measurements and models in Digital Twins to help decision-making.The post holders will join a vibrant environment with world leading groups in Energy and Sustainability, and a School-wide Net Zero Challenge.
