Salary : Grade 7/8/9: £37,474 - £42,155 / £46,047 - £53,353 / £54,949 - £61,823 per annumOur client is an energetic and growing international centre of excellence for Engineering research and teaching. Alongside world leading research, the School delivers taught programmes in the areas of Aerospace; Mechanical; Electronics; Civil and BiomedicalEngineering. They have in the region of 170 academics and 190 researchers supported by approximately 70 technicians and 40 professional services staff. Currently, they have ~500 research students working towards doctorates.They are seeking to fill a position for an ambitious academic to join the Division of Systems, Power and Energy, specifically related to the delivery of Mechanical Design teaching. As well as contributing to teaching across their Mechanical Engineering courses,the successful candidate will specialise in the innovative teaching and assessment of Mechanical Design courses. Example areas of their design teaching include courses that focus on the ethical, environmental and sustainable aspects of the design process;tools and approaches used to support the design process; and design approaches used to solve specific mechanical engineering problems. Expertise of the successful applicant may span the range of mechanical engineering subjects, but a demonstrated track recordin the innovative delivery of Mechanical Design teaching is a requirement. Experience in industry will also be welcome.The post holders will join a vibrant environment within a world leading University (World top 100 THE and QS, UK top 15 Guardian and Times). They expect the successful academic to complement and synergise with existing teaching and contribute to their continualinnovation by developing new teaching and assessment approaches to sit alongside their established methods.
