Lead Solution Architect

Job Description

As a Barclays Lead Solution Architect, you will join the Corporate Data service team and you will be responsible for managing a team of solution architects accountable for designing and delivering high quality solutions to support the organisations datadriven initiatives. You will work closely with enterprise architects to ensure your architectures meet design principles and with development teams to ensure they understand the overall end to end architecture. What will you be doing • Leading a team of architects responsible for designing and delivering data solutions in line and creating strategy and vision for across cloud and platforms • Providing architectural consultancy for new initiative, to assist in the definition of business solutions or technical data strategies, through scope and requirement validation • Supporting prioritisation activities to ensure solutions are managed and ranked appropriately and solving unique and complex technical problems with broad impact on our key business areas • Working with architects in the definition of product strategy and roadmaps • Working with customers, project solution architects, business analysts and developers to turn business requirements into solution designs that meet the business needs • Engaging with the Barclays Group Innovation Agenda, bringing new ideas and creative solutions to our business • Owning the technical solution and integrity of solution throughout the change lifecycle through to run phase What were looking for: • Exposure to wide variety of technologies eg.( APIs, AWS, Java, Adaptive, Responsive design) • Experience managing/leading architecture teams and experience working to MD level • Understanding of best practice architectural /design methods with proven leading-edge thinking • Experience with IT Architecture - Familiar with integration and implementation issues Skills that will help you in the role: • Solution architect/enterprise architect training and certification e.g. TOGAF, BCS • Ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders Where will you be working Our new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration.
