Job Description

Lead IT EngineerFPSG are proudly working in partnership with a highly reputable global organisation that are known for being leaders within their market.Due to the continuous growth within the business, we are supporting the search to find a Lead Engineer for a hybrid role based at an office either in the North East England or throughout Scotland.Please Note: Because of the nature of the projects, all applicants are required to hold current SC Clearance and be eligible for DV Clearance.You will have a large understanding of a variety of technologies and be an expert in transformation, structure and high-quality deliveries.This role requires strong technical planning as you will be delivering large scale solutions to support customers transformation journey. Although you will be a specialist in a specific area, you must also be adaptable to generalist technical delivery.The Role:

  • Be accountable for technical governance and cohesion of detailed designs.
  • Working with Chief Engineer and Lead Architects to ensure all designs meets customer requirements.
  • Drive quality ensuring appropriate level of testing and proving is completed
  • Provides Technical Leadership.
  • Support SMEs and Solution Architects.
  • Take lead through technical assessment and design workshops.
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and methods.
  • Works with multiple customers on medium and or large project.
  • Assist project and programs in planning required technical resource required to deliver solutions.
  • Provides qualitative and quantitative information.
About You:
  • Frequently uses product and application knowledge to develop solutions.
  • A recognised expert in one or more technologies within own technical community
  • Recent experience within a technical leadership role.
  • Ability to make complex decisions .
  • Excellent communication skills, both written ad verbal.
  • Strong understanding of Engineering Principles.
  • Experience of integrating solutions on large IT programmes.
  • Self motivated with ability to work using own initiative with proven problem solving skills.
  • Exposure within a multi-technology environment/
  • Engage strongly with both internal and external stakeholders across multiple levels.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment managing multiple and changing priorities.
  • Experienced with planning and estimations.
  • Developing team members and ensuring that all engineers working on the project understand their deliveries.
  • Ability to learn various technologies at a high level to understand how they interlock with other technologies.
