Job Description

The Keepmoat Land & Partnerships Graduate Programme has been developed to attract the very best graduates into our Land & Partnerships teams. We want to attract graduates who share in our passion for what we do and how we do things, whilst aspiring to build a successful career with Keepmoat, providing us with a rich seam of talent from which we will nurture and grow our future leadership teams.The initial phase of the programme is focussed exclusively on attracting graduates into the Land & Partnerships function and the initial Programme intake will provide an opportunity for up to 6 graduate placements. As a progressive business, we have identified the need to focus on "Growing Our Own" talent within the L&P function, providing an exciting opportunity for a select number of highly motivated and talented graduates to learn not just how to buy land successfully, but to also equip them with the technical knowledge, professional, personal and leadership development skills and an understanding of all aspects of the Keepmoat business.We are keen to seize the opportunity to attract some of the brightest and best graduates into the Keepmoat business.   • LocationOffice based - initially within host Region (Graduates will be expected to be flexible and travel where the role takes them.)On the satisfactory completion of the programme, the opportunity to secure permanent role with one of our Regional Land & Partnerships teams.Rotation ProgrammeDuring the first year Graduates will rotate across the core functions of the Keepmoat business.Candidates will be spending up to 4 weeks in each core function (Land & Partnerships, Legal, Commercial, Technical, Sales and Marketing, Build, Customer Service, Finance) to ensure a comprehensive understanding of each aspect and how they all fit together.In addition, Graduates will spend time familiarising themselves with some of the key central services (e.g. Central Land & Partnerships, IT, HR, Procurement, Marketing & Communications, Strategic Land, Product Development) delivered through an interactive presentational format with the opportunity for Q&A.The rotational programme is designed to equip Graduates with a broad understanding of the Keepmoat business, developing their understanding of all aspects of the operational model and also helping Graduates build a network of contacts across all functions. By the end of their first year and the completion of the rotational programme, Graduates will have gained a valuable end to end insight into the Keepmoat business model, our culture and how each function plays its part in delivering success.Throughout the course of the rotation year Graduates will be expected to spend a minimum of 3 weeks on site, which will involve 2 weeks with Construction and 1 week with Sales.A key feature of the rotation programme will be providing Graduates with the opportunity to attend the following Key Regional Meetings:
  • Weekly Build and Sales
  • Weekly Land Meeting
  • Weekly Management Meeting
  • Monthly Board Meeting
  • Monthly CTC Meeting
  • Each functional rotation is designed to give Graduates hands-on experience within the core areas of the business and to educate them around how schemes are progressed and decisions are made. The rotations will be structured around a set of core learning objectives, which are outlined in the functional rotation programme summaries attached at Appendix 1.Graduates will be set clear and measurable targets which will form the basis of the assessment of their performance on the scheme, including:
  • Comprehensive understanding of Keepmoat business
  • Contributing to the submission of a land bid
  • Purchasing or assisting in the purchase of at least one site
  • Completing the rotational programme is a fundamental part of the Graduate scheme and the learning from each functional rotation will be evaluated.
