Job Description

Meridian Business Support is currently looking for an experienced Labourer with some joinery experiencefor our client based in East Kilbride. Immediate start possible. This is temp to perm position with a full time work opportunity for correct candidate after 12 weeks of assignment.Salary:

  • £27.625pa (£12.50ph) DOE
Working days/hours:
  • Monday - Friday: 7.30am to 4.30pm (42.5h a week)
LabourerResponsibilities:
  • Assisting in the building of supporting constructions in line with the clients requirements and/or the relevant testing standards.
  • Assisting in the installation of fire testing specimens in accordance with instructions.
  • Implementation of instrumentation to specimens in line with the relevant testing standards.
  • Record keeping surrounding instrumentation and measurement taking.
  • Support in the conducting of fire resistance testing using fire resistance testing furnace.
  • Dismantle and disposal of test specimen and supporting construction post test.
  • Good housekeeping of laboratory and all equipment.
  • While the essence of this role will remain as stated above some duties may be changed, updated, added and withdrawn in line with business need.
Labourer Communications:
  • Internal Customers: Testing Manager, Technical and Commercial Support Staff, Compliance Officer.
  • External: Clients, Sub-contractors, Suppliers, Manufacturers.
LabourerEssential qualifications/knowledge/skills/experience:
  • Experience within a similar role, ideally in construction or civils.
  • Some joinery and partition building skills.
  • Practical problem solving skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of accurate record keeping.
  • An understanding of health & safety.
  • Highly organised and able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Consistent high quality of work.
  • A forklift licence would be an advantage.
LEssential personal attributes:
  • High level of communication skills (client liaison).
  • Detail conscious, high awareness of the importance of getting the facts right.
  • Enjoys evidence-based evaluation and measurement.
