Job Description

Java Software Developer Permanent (£35-65k) DOENEW Arrival IN Glasgow FPSG has exciting opportunities for high-performing Java Engineers to join a BRAND-NEW team in Glasgow, with a rapidly growing Organisation that has offices all over the world. The company is very adaptable with their staff building environments and culturesto match their people whether thats Yoga, Hit class, Table tennis or Video Games, while still providing technical challenges with cutting edge technology.BE ONE OF THE FIRSTAs a Java Engineer, you will join the trading integrations Tech Team. Within a fast-paced environment, you will be developing/collaborating on solutions including responsibility for trading applications supporting operations. You will be involved everystep of the way, with a company looking to develop technology to automate and slipstream the process wherever possible. You will have a unique opportunity as one of the first members to have the freedom to drive creativity and innovate, products and services.As a Java Developer your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborative Java-led agile development on a range of Greenfield & Brownfield projects.
  • A blend of back-end, and full-stack focus to match your key skills.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement
  • Contributing to iterative development, liaising directly with business users, business analysts, product owners, and other developers
  • Listening to business challenges, with a focus to develop new tools to automate processes and improve workflow
  • Be prepared to take ownership and responsibility with a can-do attitude
  • Contribute to analytical, problem-solving tasks.
  • Take a full-lifecycle ownership approach to your solutions, through successful well-written, tested and supported code
  • Articulate solutions to stakeholders where necessary including a non-technical audience
  • The ability to quickly identify and document root cause issues, and effectively find and communicate possible resolutions
To be a successful Java Engineer you will need experience of:
  • Minimum 2 years commercial core Java.
  • Complex Java Development.
  • Solutions in Java, SQL, and RDBMS.
  • Happy to develop in full, including front end, middleware, servers, and databases, which could involve working with different languages eg TypeScript, React, Python.
  • Bachelors degree in Computing Science or similar (preferred but not essential).
Offices are based in Glasgow City Centre, with full support from the rest of the integration tech team, you will be allowed to collaborate and challenge all levels of the technology stack, including frontend, middleware servers, and databases.
