Venesky-Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow/Edinburgh, is currently looking to recruit an IT Technician until March 2024 on a rate of £13.02-£14.06/hour PAYE. This role will be remote based, but attendance may be required onsite in Edinburghor Glasgow.Responsibilities:- Plans, organises and delivers prioritised first-level reactive and proactive IT support to all staff.- Sets up and maintain presentation equipment as required, normally under the direction of their line manager.- Installs and repairs a range of hardware and software to meet the site needs and ensures the security of all this equipment.- Deal professionally with a range of enquiries from managers, staff and external customers to the department/directorate.- Ability to understand a range of work procedures and practices which require analysis and are associated with the role.- Work proactively, suggesting and implementing changes to local procedures and processes to improve efficiency.Essential Skills:- Basic IT Training such as ECDL/NVQ or equivalent- Educated to SCQF level 4 or equivalent demonstrated ability in four subjects including IT- Customer Service Experience- Experience of computer hardware maintenance- Good familiarity with current hardware and software- IT literacy- Good problem solving skills- Good communication skills- Ability to investigate issues thoroughly prior to escalation- Ability to prioritise own workload and work to deadlinesDesirable Skills:- Educated to SCQF level 4 in an English based subject - Experience of providing remote support- Working knowledge of IT and telecommunications technologies- Experience of an ITIL environmentIf you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
