Interim Procurement Manager Public sector education client 6 months + Remote 270pd I am working with one of the UKs leading multidisciplinary education institutions who are looking for 2x interim procurement managers to join their team on a 6 month basis (with potential to extend).The roles are remote and are paying 270pd.Key responsibilitiesDeliver procurement services that support the institutions sustainable procurement strategyProvide sustainable, value for money contracts and provide effective supplier managementPromoting the advantages of contracts and services available from procurement services and develop good marketing and information techniquesDevise and implement performance monitoring procedures to ensure that commitments are met, to demonstrate the benefits, which procurement services has achieved and identify areas for improvementDevelop an awareness of the potential for more effective purchasing within the organizationDevelop and maintain systems and procedures that will provide useful and relevant market knowledge, and a means of objective performance measurement and benchmarkingDeveloping and maintaining systems and procedures for the evaluation of and vetting of suppliersNegotiate best value purchasing contracts, using appropriate tendering proceduresAssist the academic departments in ensuring appropriate selection and tendering procedures are implementedKey requirementsGraduate level membership of CIPSTrack record of procurement of a wide range of goods and servicesExperience in the field of Information Systems / IT is essentialKnowledge and experience of recent developments in procurement best practice including e-procurement and e-sourcingAbility to develop and implement category management and strategic sourcingPlease contact Eilidh Sproul at Cedar for more information.
