Venesky-Browns client, a public sector organisation in Edinburgh/Glasgow, are currently looking to recruit an Information Governance Policy Manager for an initial 6 month contract on a rate of £500-530/day (inside of IR35). Due to the current circumstances this role will initially be remote based.Role:This role sits in the Design Standards Team of the organisation and will support the work of the Information Governance Policy Lead. The role is a multi-faceted one, covering information governance and data science and offering working exposure to the area of agile delivery under the Scottish approach to service design in a fast-paced, exciting environment. The post holder will have regular engagement with the Data Protection Officer.Responsibilities:·Manage the process of creating data sharing agreements with Scottish and UK public sector organisations to support the operation of arrangements in Scotland, including leading on drafting and ensuring sign-off of specific agreements. This will follow an aggressive timetable with several agreements requiring development at the same time;·Provide a lead role on Information Governance and assurance to one or many agile service teams in the programme, ensuring they adopt a privacy by design approach, including facilitating the development of data protection impact assessments and reports and close involvement in agile design and delivery and related assurance gates;·Development of user stories for information governance to be delivered in the agile and waterfall deliveries;·Provide an assurance function on Privacy by Design to the programmes governance;·Complete updates to the programmes Data Protection Impact Assessment documentation as required post each DPIA process - multiple processes will require completion across multiple multi-disciplinary service teams;·Draft required instructions to support the establishment of legislative gateways to enable the legal sharing of data for the operation of s arrangements in Scotland;·Manage communications and engagement for information governance policyEssential Skills:·Experience of information governance and data protection legislation and guidance in relation to data processing, including developing and supporting governance frameworks and undertaking or supporting data protection impact assessments·Experience of developing data or information sharing agreements within the public sector and in developing privacy notices·Proven interpersonal and leadership skills in relation to building up stakeholder relationships, negotiating, influencing and creating buy-in for a course of action·Ability to be flexible and open to new ideas whilst working in an assurance capacity·Ability to effectively plan and manage conflicting and competing demands on your time whilst delivering to tight deadlines in a busy, change environment.Essential Skills:·Experience of working in public service delivery, research and statistics or other areas that benefit from rich, accurate data and evidence;·Experience of working in a programme and/or digital environment.If you would like to hear more about this opportunity please get in touch.
