Job Description

One of my clients, a leading specialist in Fire, Security and Automation Solutions based in Scotland is currently looking for an Industrial Door Engineer to be responsible for the service and maintenance of a range of industrial door products.As a business, they have over 35 years in operation in their specialism and are growing a new branch based in Glasgow to take on even more engineers to add to their existing team.The role for the Industrial Door Engineer will involve;

  • Carrying out routine maintenance, servicing and repairs on industrial door equipment, gates and barriers.
  • Working on roller shutters, sectional overheads, gates, barriers, high-speed doors, bollards, turnstiles, fire shutters, fencing and more.
  • Working as part of a small two-man team, assigned a Mate to assist with larger heavier jobs.
  • Covering the out of hours call-out rota on a 1 week in 5 basis.
  • Travelling to site, liaising with customers whilst working and advising on recommended replacement parts or upselling the company’s products and services.
    • To be considered for the role, you will have;
  • Ideally an SVQ/NVQ 2 in Industrial Doors.
  • In excess of 4 years’ experience in the service and repair of industrial doors.
  • Some gates and barriers experience, turnstile and bollard experience would be ideal and increase the salary offered.
  • A full UK driving license.
  • IPAF, PASMA and CSCS cards would be beneficial.
    • This role offers an excellent remuneration package, including;
  • Basic hourly rate of up to £14.50 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Standby fee of £150 per week for the time spent on call.
  • Calls paid at a minimum of 4X hourly rate.
  • Door to door travel time.
  • 30 days’ annual leave including Bank Holidays.
  • Contributory pension scheme.
  • Company vehicle, for commercial use only.
  • Enhanced overtime rates.
