Job Description

HR AdvisorPertemps are recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor to work on an temp basis with our Public Sector client based in Glasgow.Starting ASAP for 6 weeksHourly rate £17.07Due to current circumstances the role will be working from homeThe role:

  • Ensure the provision of an efficient and comprehensive professional HR service to managers and staff
  • Support the delivery of strategic goals and objectives through the development of relationships with Managers
  • Contribute to the development of HR policies, systems and practices and to the development and delivery of HR projects
  • Main Duties:
  • Provide professional advice, expertise, guidance and support to Faculty Management Team, Unit Managers and other senior managers within the College on all aspects of HR, ensuring that they are aware of current legislation, best practice, and college policy and procedures
  • Provide advice to individual members of staff on any matters relating to their terms and conditions of employment
  • Act as main point of contact for managers across on employee relations issues and to provide support and advice on individual employee casework (recruitment, grievance, performance and absence management, conduct, redundancy, voluntary severance, redeployment, equality & diversity etc.). To ensure cases are dealt with in a timely fashion and in accordance with current legislation and best practice and that good employee and/or Trade Union relations are maintained
  • Develop relationships with managers of specific faculties and business units within the College in order to gain greater all round understanding of their business requirements and support them in delivering key business objectives
  • Provide coaching and support to managers involved in grievance and discipline processes
  • To lead on the management of casework, relating to sickness absence. This includes making
  • recommendations, giving advice and support to managers, liaising with Occupational Health, case review meetings
  • Essential Skills - Please ensure there is evidence of this in your CV:
  • SCQF Level 8 in a HR related subject e.g. HND*
  • Membership of CIPD*
  • Good knowledge of employment law*
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Operational experience as a professional adviser (advising, influencing, delivering HR solutions in partnership with the business, employee relations).*
  • Experience of analysing and presenting information
  • Experience of using basic software packages
