We also provide specialist services on behalf of the West of Scotland for the population of 2.7 million people and provide a number of national services which are accessed from across Scotland.Our Mental Health and Addiction Services are delivered through Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership acting on behalf of the 6 Health and Social Care Partnerships within the Greater Glasgow and Clyde Board area.Investing in our workforce is a key priority to ensure the ongoing delivery of quality safe, effective, person centred care.We are now looking to recruit motivated and enthusiastic AfC Band 3 Health Care Support Workers - Mental Health Inpatient Services to work in our Adult and Older Adult Mental Health Inpatient Services at Gartnavel Royal Hospital. ***A number of 12 month Fixed Term contracts may also be offered for appointable candidates in our Mental Health Inpatients Adult & Older Adult wards /units located in sites in the following locations : Glasgow- Gartnavel Royal Hospital, Stobhill Hospital & Leverndale Hospital Renfrewshire/Paisley- Dykebar Hospital & Royal Alexandria Hospital Greenock -Inverclyde Royal Hospital CampusWest Dunbartonshire- Dumbarton Joint Hospital & Vale of Leven HospitalOur Gartnavel Royal Hospital In-patient mental health clinical teams believe passionately in preserving people’s dignity during their stay with us and are highly committed to the delivery of safe and effective care. To support our philosophy of care we are seeking to appoint a number of newHealth Care Support Workers, (sometimes referred to as Nursing Assistants) , who will strive for excellence and who above all will want to make a real difference.In this role you will work as part of the registered nursing team delivering care to patients. Support and supervision is provided by a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).You duties will include carrying out routine personal care for patients which will include assisting with all hygiene needs of patients, assisting at mealtimes and cleanliness of the ward/ personal space. The post holder is also expected to carry out a range of duties to maintain a safe ward environment. These will include observing and escorting patients, reporting back to the registered nurse and health and safety checks.You will also be expected, at times, to participate in the management of difficult clinical situations and will play an important role in maintaining the safety of the environment.For successful candidates the ability to operate as a team player is an essential component to this role. Equally important is the ability to treat people with dignity and respect and to act in a collaborative manner with service users, carers and varying staff groups.Candidates for this role must be able to demonstrate a clear interest or experience in a caring role which is an essential criteria.Applications are invited from individuals who can demonstrate great people and communication skills.
