Applications are invited from candidates for the fixed term (18 months) post of Clinical Scientist within West of Scotland Specialist Virology Centre (WoSSVC), Glasgow. You will be a key member of the team responsible for developing and delivering a Next Generation Sequencing based service for COVID-19 and other viral pathogens of use in the West of Scotland Specialist Virology Centre, Glasgow. Experience of NGS based methods (and related issues) – especially in relation to the viral genotyping is essential for this post and experience of nanopore technology would be beneficial. You should also have previous experience of working in Clinical laboratory. Candidates will have a BSc Honours degree in relevant science e.g. Microbiology. In addition, an MSc or relevant PhD is essential for the post.
