Job Description

Head of Technology - Glasgow - £60-75KThe successful candidate will lead and develop in-house dev and test teams and testers with the goal to successfully deliver projects. You will input on the design and execution of the organisational roadmap and mainly act as a hands-off strategic leader.The company are offering hybrid working (50/50 split) so a candidate would have to be in commutable distance and hold working rights within the UK.Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance on project design and delivery including frameworks - Agile and Waterfall.
  • Produce effective delivery plans for technical transformations and ensure they are communicated and implemented company wide
  • Keep key stakeholders informed of design, development and testing of projects and solutions.
  • Futureproof technology services in terms of cyber security, software development, and systems in line with the organisational improvement plan
Qualification and skills requirements
  • Influencing and interpersonal skills to bring stakeholders on board.
  • Degree in either Computer Science, Software Engineering, Web Design & Development, Engineering or Mathematics.
  • Functional working knowledge of SQL, MSQL & Python.
  • Strong knowledge of network security and infrastructure, encryption, and data retention policies - ISO9001 & 14001/Cyber Essentials accreditations
  • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and GDPR in relation to IT systems and security.
  • Previous experiencing negotiating and managing 3rd party contracts.
  • Demonstrable delivery of large technology projects - web development, mobile and desktop apps.
  • Have previous experience as a Head of Technology or similar role with evidence of leading a team.
  • Knowledge of integration technologies, cloud platforms, infosec, APIs
