Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Head of Quality for one of our key clients within the Glasgow area to oversee and manage the integrity of the quality of their products to their customers.Client DetailsOur client is a multi site mid to heavy engineering based business in the Glasgow area who have worldwide customers over multi sectors and strive for high levels of customer satisfaction within every piece manufactured.Description

  • The Head of Quality will oversee and manage the integrity of the quality of products to our customers whilst respecting our obligations to the community, the environment and the development of our employees
  • Devising, establishing & improving the companys quality procedures, standards and specifications over multiple sites
  • You will oversee a function of circa 10 heads over multiple sites and will look to motivate and develop the team.
  • Work across functions to ensure Quality enhances overall profitability
  • Role modelling leadership behaviours which promote excellence and shape the company culture
  • Manage relevant KPIs and regular reporting to support a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Managing management systems such as ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001 and management concepts such as total quality management, and methodologies such as the continuous improvement process.
  • Managing sector specific management systems for the Aerospace sector including AS9100/AS9120
Profile
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/14001 system is essential as well as knowledge of AS9100/AS9120
  • Degree in engineering or quality management or equivalent education gained through work experiences.
  • Excellent practical experience of quality assurance, ideally in a industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Multi site exposure is beneficial
  • Experience working within heavy engineering/industrial engineering/precision engineering is essential (low volume/high variance)
  • Qualified internal auditor preferable.
  • Sound awareness of quality issues within a supply chain environment.
  • Previous experience of people management (strong people management skills - able to identify, attract, develop and retain).
  • An ability to work within tight deadlines and manage time effectively.
  • Strong team player with a flexible attitude to work priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including delivering presentations/training.
  • Highly adaptable with the ability to work cross functionally, guiding the business in all aspects of Quality.
