Group Tax Accountant – Glasgow – Home WorkingAn experienced Group Tax Accountant is required to join a large group based near Glasgow. The group comprises 26 subsidiary companies operating in the Transport, Commercial vehicle dealership, Logistics and property sectors. You will be working closely withthe Group Financial Controller and be instrumental in working with group companies to submit CT returns and provide advice and guidance on VAT and employment taxes.Group Tax Accountant responsibilities• Preparation of subsidiary and group UK Corporation Tax returns.• Preparation of subsidiary ROI Corporation Tax returns.• R&D claim preparation and submission with support of external tax advisors.• Provide accounting entries for UK and ROI Corporation returns for inclusion in annual statutory accounts.• Review UK and ROI VAT returns for accuracy and correct VAT treatment.• Provide advice to Group Finance and Subsidiaries on VAT processes and VAT treatment of transactions.• Monitoring HMRC and Revenue Commissioner compliance across the group.• Support compliance and optimisation of import / export processes and associated duties.• Provide Employment Duties advice within the group to ensure compliance with HMRC / Revenue Commissioner obligations.• Liaise with HMRC as required to maintain group tax compliance.Group Tax Accountant Skills and Qualifications.• ACA / CTA qualified (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.• Experienced in preparation of corporation tax returns (UK and ROI).• Extensive knowledge of UK and ROI VAT regulations.• Knowledge of employment taxes.• Knowledge of working with or within the central Finance team in a large group.• Self-starter with ability to exercise initiative and judgement to resolve problems.• Plan and prioritise own work, adapting as necessary to achieve objectives.• Interacts with a wide range of contacts across group companies and external advisorsAt Clemence Rogers your right to privacy is important to us.
