Job Description

Full Stack Developer - Up to £50k - Fully RemoteMy client transforms how people think about their water and energy consumption and how Utilities engage with their customers. With our software, we combine behavioural science, big data, machine learning, and digital emotional marketing techniques that makecustomer engagement easy, social, and rewarding. They are helping consumers to better understand their usage and motivate them to save water, energy, and money, making them happy to doso. Their mission is to provide a customer engagement platform to help Utilities become a personal usage advisor, better serving their customers, and reducing the costs to serve while increasing customer satisfaction.ResponsibilitiesAs a Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for our front and back-end web development.You will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing the overall architecture of our web applications
  • Implementing APIs for our web application
  • Maintaining the quality and ensuring the responsiveness of our web applications (speed and scalability)
  • Working with graphic designers and converting designs to visual elements
  • Develop improved UI/UX interaction experience for both mobile and desktop
  • Management of our hosting environment, including database administration, data migration, transformation, and scripting
Essential Skills/ExperienceThey are looking for a Full Stack Developer who is collaborative, willing to share knowledge with the broader team, work together to solve problems, and meet the targets to further the business goals. This individual would be self-motivated, driven, andcan work independently. An agile practitioner who understands lean-start up principles and methodology. Confident, engaging, and articulate in verbal, written, and visual communication.
  • A degree (BSc or MSc) in Computer Science, IT, Technology or Electronic/Software
  • Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3-5 years of professional experience
  • PHP 7+/Laravel (LTS to Edge)
  • JavaScript (ES6)/React/jQuer)
  • HTML/CSS/SCSS
  • Bootstrap (4 to Edge)
  • Ability to work in an agile, iterative, and incremental development environment
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with Linux distributions
  • Experience with git versioning system
  • Experience with database technologies like MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB, as well as NoSQL databases
Highly Desirable Skills/Experience
  • Node.js and/or Go
  • Previous involvement supporting an analytics software solution operating on large
  • data
  • Experience with distributed architecture and big data solutions
  • Exposure to water and energy data, at least time series, numerical data, or other
  • industries with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical
  • personnel
