Job Description

Our highly regarded public client, who is based within the Housing sector, have a temporary role for a Fuel Advisor. The rate of pay will be £14.87 per hour and is for approx. 3 months.The role is home based but will need to be in office for training, meetings and visiting customers, within Glasgow city Centre. This is Monday to Friday working.Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Deliver information/advice/education on energy efficiency and savings to customers
  • Maximize income to relevant benefits and grants in relation to fuel poverty
  • Provide home visits as requested
  • Provide energy efficiency advice on use of heating systems and the benefits and savings
  • Deliver regular fuel advice surgeries and information services
  • Organize and attend relevant marketing events
  • Provide advice to tenants regarding tariffs, payments methods and fuel providers
  • Maintain up to date information relating to fuel advice
  • Collate marketing information and write reports on service users/uptake
  • Maintain detailed outcome-based statistics
  • Manage referrals received from frontline services and other agencies
  • Negotiate tariffs and payment methods with fuel utility companies
  • Strengthen and create working partnerships with external agencies
Skills:
  • Experience in the delivery of a fuel advice in a result orientated environment
  • Ability to interpret evolving legislation and information
  • Excellent communicator, internal and external, with an ability to communicate complex matters clearly and concisely
  • Experience of organizing workloads to achieve priorities and objectives
  • Good interpersonal, negotiating, and mediating skills
