Job Description

As a Barclays Fixed Income Sales Assistant, you will be providing trading support coverage to Front office partners, clients, and back office teams. You will be the primary point of contact for the European Macro Cash and Derivative business, ensuringthat all aspects of deals are correctly booked throughout their lifecycle and managing and resolving queries from various areas such as trading, finance, and settlements. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that we adhere to our regulatory requirementsand escalating accordingly. What will you be doing Reviewing reconciliations, investigating, and resolving breaks entail second check of trade capture input, investigation and resolution of high-risk breaks Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, brokers and internal teams for all discrepancies and issues Calculating and processing corporate actions on bond positions and updating risk/P&L accordingly Reconciling trades and positions between systems, with brokers and with exchanges Ensuring all aspects of the role are covered and to the highest standard Managing a team with five individuals Monitoring failing trades: stepping in where necessary to arrange buy-ins and prioritise settlement with clients Liaising with repo traders to cover short positions by borrowing bonds What were looking for: Previous experience within a Financial Services setting Operations experience related to Middle Office role Understanding of Futures and Derivative trades Knowledge of electronic platforms for trading and confirmations including Bloomberg, TradeWeb, MarketAxess, Omgeo CTM, FIX, Trade web and market wire Skills that will help you in the role: Diligent and able to work in a fast paced high pressure environment with tight deadlines Ability to coordinate with various teams in order to action exceptions and ad hoc inquiries Must be detail oriented and be able to multitask Thorough understanding of Credit, Rates and FX Products and the life cycle of the trade including coupons, accrual periods, lifecycle events and clearing Where will you be workingOur new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration.
