Job Description

Controls & Compliance Manager - Glasgow- £50-55K Are you looking for a unique opportunity to apply your technical skills and financial expertise in a global corporate environment Our client, a large broker and risk adviser is on the hunt for a Controls & Compliance Manager – could this be the role foryouThe Controls & Compliance Manager has a key role in the development, review, and testing of controls across my clientsInsurer Broker function. Working across all trading divisions for theirUK side, the role will report directly to the Head of QualityAssurance (QA) and reporting and will be responsible for managing the governance and regulatory compliance Department.Key Accountabilities/Deliverables:

  • Responsible for developing & embedding comprehensive Control Frameworks across a financial back office function
  • Lead the review & development of SoPs across the function, to ensure process documentation is maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Lead SOX and SOP review process across the IBA department, recording non-adherence where applicable and collaborating with management to address failings.
  • Conducting Quality Assurance (QA) checks including departmental files assessments, process efficiency reviews and feedback any corrective action to the relevant parties.
  • Responsible for supporting the Business with risk identification and controlling the effectiveness assessments of the remedial action.
  • Evaluating the Control Framework of acquired Businesses prior to integration, implementing countermeasures to address any alignment anomalies.
  • Collaborating with key Stakeholders to devise a mechanism for the department to adequately manage and adhered to financial risks and regulatory change.
  • Identify and assist with continuous development of departmental processes and procedures
  • Facilitate operational audits, evaluate findings and execute recommendations in the best interest of the department’s compliance approach.
  • Report and present Compliance results within Finance dashboards.
  • Co-ordinate and control offshoring of operations
