Technical Sales Engineer (Home Based)An established and successful Engineering company are looking for a Technical Sales Engineer with a background in solutions sales within the Marine and Shipbuilding industry to cover customers across ScotlandBased from home and Operating within the Shipbuilding, Offshore and Marine sectors you will identify, quantify and prioritise industry and infrastructure projects and network with project influencers (owners, specifiers, engineers, contractors or resellers)so that the companys products are specified and approved for use on them.Working with new and dormant accounts, you will also present the company solutions to specifying engineers (electrical, control, instrumentation, mechanical, structural) via technical presentations, site visits, installation training, promotion with resellersconcentrating on supplying electrical based solutions to projects that include Turbines and Generators, Rotating Machines, Integrated Switchgear Housings/Enclosures, Acoustic Housings, Pumps, Compressors and Temporary PowerYou will drive sustainable sales growth through gaining engineering specifications for the companys solutions and delivering world-class support throughout the project lifecycle, create and execute targeted sales plan for multi-year engineering and constructionprojects, plan and manage all customer contacts and meetings within the CRM system and provide routine, accurate and meaningful market information, forecasting and product planning to managementBenefits include a company car, commission scheme, pension and private health benefitsKEY SKILLSThe successful candidate will have proven solution based sales experience within the Shipbuilding and Marine sector. You will ideally have a Degree / HND or similar qualification in a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline with a minimum of 3 yearsprofessional sales experience and a successful track record of presenting complex and/or technical solutions to decision makers, specifying engineers and/or multi-million-pound project managers. You will have some experience of building working relationshipswithin engineering and design firms and have a good knowledge of electrical, controls, automation and/or mechanical systems for industrial and infrastructure applications.Good interpersonal skills coupled with a strong understanding of industrial business practices and effective sales techniques - must be able to develop, manage and perform to a sales and business plan are essential as is a proven ability and confidence toprepare and present solutions and strategies to groups of co-workers, clients or prospects.A Proven ability to manage long-term and complex sales projects to success and the ability to travel internationally on occasion is also needed.
