Job Description

Facilities Manager - Competitive Salary - Glasgow, UKThe RoleWe are looking for a motivated and capable Facilities Manager with demonstrable success in a previous role to join our close knit team at our Glasgow office. You will ensure the service delivery of a key client and their operation.This is an exciting opportunity to take on a fresh challenge and develop your career with a dynamic and rapidly growing company supporting a key client for SPIE UK.Some of the key responsibilities of a Facilities Manager include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing the day-to-day running of the operations ensuring all facilities are available for use by stakeholders.
  • Ensuring reactive times to mitigate potential unavailability/performance deductions are met.
  • Managing the procedure for risk assessments / method statements
  • Taking responsibility for the direct line management of Operations Supervisors, site based operatives, lifecycle and support staff.
  • Representing the company at meetings with clients, local authorities and building contractors for the purpose of monthly reviews, health and safety, energy management, letting etc.
  • Identifying training needs within area of responsibility.
  • Organising and administering team briefs and toolbox talks.
  • Ensuring company compliance with statutory checks, including project execution plans, succession plans and direct reports

  • A background in facilities management within a facilities services environment with experience and knowledge of PFI/PPP contracts, particularly in educational establishments
  • Qualification in Health & Safety IOSH Managing Safely; knowledge and experience of FSI concept system and/or HNC or equivalent in Facilities Management/Engineering or similar discipline is highly desirable
  • First class communication with excellent people-management experience and the ability to build and maintain relationships effectively at all levels
  • A high level of commercial and financial awareness, with knowledge of payment mechanisms and the ability to understand principals surrounding budgetary control, profit and loss etc.
  • Sound commercial awareness, risk management and customer awareness
  • A full and clean driving licence
