Job Description

Our client who is based within a highly regarded public sector organization, have a temporary role for an Executive Officer. This role attracts a pay rate of £13.59 per hour and is based in Glasgow City Centre. The hours of work are Mon - Thu, 8.30am to 5pm and Fri 8.30am to 4.30pm.Applicants must have a current Basic Disclosure Scotland, Certificate dated within the last 12 months.Main Duties

  • The post holder will work in a small team leading on Ferries Policy, this covers aspects such as routes & services, timetables, local authority ferries, Covid response and fares policy. This post holder reports to the B3 Senior Policy Officer within the branch.
  • This is a busy and interesting policy area, with significant interest from Ministers, local authorities, local stakeholders and media.
  • Monitoring and preparation of high quality and accurate draft responses to frequent press queries, briefing requests, PQs, MACCS cases and FOI requests.
  • Arrange meetings with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all appropriate arrangements are in place.
  • Take accurate and concise minutes of meetings/calls where necessary.
  • Maintain and keep all trackers and reference documents up to date, including briefings logs, MACCS and PQ trackers.
  • Essential Skills
  • Proven experience of building and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, including the ability to balance competing demands within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under own initiative, bringing forward recommendations and solutions.
  • Desirable Skills
  • Experience of using MACCS, PQ, eRDM and FOI systems.
  • Experience of working in a Transport Policy environment.
