Job Description

Annual salary: up to £29,000.00 Mears Housing Management is a successful business within Mears Group PLC, having grown in 5 years to a nationally based management business with 12,000 homes and contracts with 50 Local Authorities and Central Government. While working in accordance to the relevant Safety Regulations and departmental procedures, you will have to carry out a variety of different duties. As an experienced Electrician you will responsible for delivering a reactive maintenance & repairs to domestics properties and some commercial throughout the Glasgow area. This is a great opportunity within our Housing Management business, following the success of the Asylum Accommodation and Support Contract win.As an Electrician, your duties will include -

  • Install, repair, renew, test and maintain electrical installations as required, meeting all legislative requirement
  • Inspect, test and issue certification for all electrical installations and repairs
  • Carry out fault diagnosis on site
  • Prepare sites for safe working
  • Keep up to date with required trade qualifications
  • Report all non-electrical faults to the Line Manager
  • Keep records of work undertaken, including maintenance & repairs work
  • Comply with H&S policies and procedures and carry out on site risk assessments for jobs undertaken
  • You may be asked to undertake some Multi Skilled tasks including tiling, building, general operative duties as and when required
    • This role is a Full Time role of 40 hours per week. Hours of work would be across a 7 day shift pattern covering 8am to 8pm Mon - Fri & 8am - 4.30pm Sat & Sun. There would be some call out work. What are we looking forExperience with installing, servicing and maintaining electrical systems and appliances in accordance with the current Edition of The IET Wiring RegulationsHave the knowledge to install, repair, inspect & test electrical installations and have the ability to fill in correctly, the appropriate Electrical Certificate or Electrical Condition ReportCity and Guilds 2360 Parts 1 and 2, orNVQ Level 3 Including AM2, orCity and Guilds 2330 Levels 2 and 3, or (from Sept 2011)City and Guilds 2357 Including AM2City and Guilds 2392 – Fundamental Certification, Inspection and Testing·City and Guilds 2391 (or to have shown competence in the area of Inspection & Testing electrical installations, in accordance with Guidance Note 3 of the IET and have a good knowledge of a variety of electrical installation work. Or to have been assessed by such persons as the NICEIC for the role of Qualifying Supervisor) orCity and Guilds 2394 –Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations, andCity and Guilds 2395 – Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations, andCity and Guilds 2382-10/12 or 2382-20 (17th Edition of the Wiring Regulations) and theCity and Guilds 2382-15 or to have proof of having taken an TBT or an update course (subject to holding C&G2382) encompassing the 3rd amendment to BS7671:2008At Mears we want to take care of our employees, thats why we have a benefits site called Mears Rewards exclusively for all our employees.
