Job Description

Competitive salary and benefits (plus company car)Location: Scotland (occasional travel to the Retail Support Centre in Brentwood is required)Work pattern: 5 days per week (35 hours)-flexible working availableMcColl’s Retail Group (MRG) are a leading neighbourhood retailer serving the Convenience and Newsagent sectors with a strong national presence throughout the UK.We are currently looking to recruit an ambitious and highly talented individual to take on the role of Development Project Specialist within our busy Property & Development Department. Reporting to the Property Development Manager, the key purpose of this role is to ensure effective on-site delivery & integration of any property development projects and to deliver the needs of the retail operation. To manage individual project life cycles including scope, construction and legislative compliance, budgets and end delivery of multiple and diverse projects over a period of time within your designated region.Key Responsibilities

  • Project management and delivery of business and construction projects varying in scale across the region for which you are accountable
  • To deliver all project activities with pace and working in collaboration with my operational partners to ensure minimal impacts on customer and colleagues in all working activities
  • Ensure projects are delivered in line with agreed plans, on time, on specification and on budget
  • Ensure all working activities on individual projects are compliant to relevant construction, health & safety legal and governance practise as agreed within the project plan and with the Project Development Manager.
  • Maintain and comply with statutory, legal and Company requirements with regards to policies and procedures in all activities with which you are involved.
  • Essential Requirements
  • Project management skills including an ability to work from a pre-defined plan and or approach.
  • Experience in managing project budgets in the region of £20-50K, or relevant other experience of financial management and control.
  • Demonstrable Experience in working collaboratively with different departments of an organisation combined with being an exceptional team player.
  • Ability to able work independently and as part of a team when possible.
  • Desire to achieve exceptional results in everything you do.
  • Track record of delivering what you say you will.
