The Role & ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a deskside Engineer to provide 2nd line deskside IT Support to the business and other companies taking their IT services from Shawbrook. This role is part of the end-user service function, working as escalation points for both ServiceDesk and the business For Deskside activities.
  • Basic Infrastructure tasks to support back-end infrastructure for users
  • Working within the Deskside services function liaising with end-users (customers) to provide exceptional IT support.
  • Escalation points for desktop and administration tasks from the IT Service desk.
  • Mentor and coach other members of the team, supporting Deskside team lead.
  • Develop and mature the Deskside offering and internal process.
  • Be an expert in end-user technology field.
  • Provide local and remote full support.
  • Provide outstanding customer service and manage user and system issues/requests to the highest possible standard.
  • Constant review of operations to identify opportunities to add value and efficiency.
  • Perform 1st Line Infrastructure tasks.
The Person
  • Working with an IT Service Desk with SLAs for IT Service Delivery to an organization with over 1000 users.
  • Working within an ITIL framework.
  • Experience of providing IT support to remote workers via phone and Remote-Control technologies where available.
  • User account management with Active Directory Exchange Online.
  • Building, deploying and the support of desktop computer and applications including Windows 10 and Microsoft Office O365.
  • Visual Basic script and power shell script creation (desirable only).
  • Asset management.
  • Liaising with 3rd party suppliers and support.
  • SCCM knowledge.
  • Sound security understanding.
  • Basic Infrastructure understanding.

  • TCP IP (DHCP, DNS).
  • Installation and movement of IT equipment.
  • Windows Deployment Services (desirable only).
  • Knowledge of GPOs.
