Job Description

Our client within a highly regarded public sector organization, have a temporary role for Debt Recovery Assistant. This is a temporary role which attracts a pay rate of £10.79 per hour, and is based in the Barrhead area of Renfrewshire. Hours of work will be 35 per week, 8:45 am to 4.45pm , Monday to Thursday and 8:45 am to 3.50pm on a Friday .Main duties and responsibilities:

  • To assist the Team Leader in recovery of all types of revenues owed, leading to increased collection levels
  • Identify arrears cases and make contact with the customers
  • Agree payment arrangements with customer, set them up and monitor.
  • Investigate high level arrears cases, using all available tools, and look to secure payment, or recommend further action.
  • Assist Team Leader in running recovery documentation.
  • Liaise with Sheriff Officers
  • Liaise with DWP (Department of Work and Pensions) making applications for deductions and monitoring same.
  • Assist the Team Leader in setting up systems for recording, monitoring and reporting on arrears information.
  • Assist in preparation of statistical reports for Senior Revenues Manager

  • Experienced of dealing with customers and resolving problematic situations
  • Credit Control/Debt Management Experience
  • Strong customer care skills
  • Competent in Microsoft word and excel
  • Ability to compose written correspondence
