Job Description

As a Barclays Senior Data Business Analyst, you will act within a team of data partners and analysts, and be responsible for the delivery of an evolving capability within the CDO that is focused on meeting data quality and control standards across multipleareas of the business. This is a unique role for you to enhance your project delivery experience and to investigate business challenges at a detailed level across data sets, operational processes, business controls and applications. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances.Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager. What will you be doing• Investigating data to understand the availability, meaning and suitability of data to be used within the function • Documenting relevant business processes and finding opportunities to streamline activities and reduce duplication of efforts or redesign the processes • Defining of requirements and specifications for proposed data remediation efforts in order to meet regulatory commitments, risk controls and business objectives • Delivering impact assessments and business cases to senior stakeholders to obtain buy in for CDO proposed recommendations • Managing of a designated set of Risk, finance & Treasury Data Domain(s), proactively facilitating engagement to strengthen the data quality and control environment • Handling the governance of mandatory metadata ensuring accuracy and completeness within the Barclay Data Catalogue in line with the Data Standard • Owning Data Council and CDO Forum submissions, including active stakeholder management of Council members in addition to supporting data domain working groups • Managing both medium and long-term planning to support data maturity transformation within allocated data domains and in conjunction with the overarching business strategy What were looking for:• Experience in business and data analysis within a complex end-to-end architecture • Background and understanding of data and process operating model process re-engineering and ownership • Prior experience working independently and proactively on assigned tasks with limited supervision • Experience in data management, risk, and controls within a financial services organisation, at a senior level Skills that will help you in the role: • Risk, Finance or Treasury business knowledge and understanding • Delivery within a regulatory environment e.g., Basel, BCBS 239 etc • Process improvement or Lean Six Sigma certification • Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE, PMI) Where will you be workingOur new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration.
