Job Description

Contract ManagerAn exciting position has become available for a full-time Contract Manager based in Glasgow or the surrounding area, but to cover Scotland as a whole. The successful candidate will earn £32,000-£40,000 plus OTE based on experience and qualification.Under the general guidance and supervision of the Board of Directors and within the limits of established company and local policies and procedures, the main role of this job is to ensure the smooth operation/running/profitability of the contracts that pertain to your relevant location, liaising with the Logistics Director and all other departments within the company.Role Requirements

  • Must have experience in the survey and installation of roller shutter and steel door industry
  • Applicants must be self-motivated, ambitious and loyal with strong people/Labour management skills.
  • Commercial awareness, communication and administration skills, excellent written and numerical skills.
  • Role Responsibilities (Not limited to)
  • Direct and coordinate contracts financial and budget activities to fund operations, increase efficiency and profit margins.
  • Ensure all Value/Cost is captured including but not limited to variations/extras/downtime are gained obtaining written agreements.
  • To also guarantee all internal and external forecasting results meet agreed targets assuring that adequate resource and skills are deployed to ensure the programme of work is fulfilled economically and efficiently.
  • The job-holder is responsible for managing all site-based activities to ensure that confirmed sales contracts are delivered on time, to the required standards within budget, whilst maximizing client satisfaction.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate the industrial installation operations of the business on a day-to-day basis.
  • Managing daily operations of local contracts, scheduling the use of installation/manufacturing resources, arrange labour, materials and plant in preparation for commencement on site.
  • Managing daily operations of local repair and maintenance contracts. Scheduling the use of installation/manufacturing resources, arrange labour, materials and plant in preparation for commencement on site and/or 24hour calls outs.
  • Scheduling a call out rota on a Monthly basis and ensuring the calls are covered and those not on account are dealt with accordingly within our CC Dept process.
  • Attend pre start meetings to ensure all necessary installation/construction issues are addressed prior to commencement on site. Visit site to familiarize with site environment, restrictions / H & S etc.
  • Agree programmes with Client/Site Managers and monitor progress.
  • Communicate programme and subsequent changes to all affected parties. Intervene and agree action plans to recover delays where possible.
  • Ensure timely request for and delivery of all information that is on the programme critical path. Identify variations to contract that will impact on the programme and ensure programme is revised to accommodate them.
  • Highlight potential issues to the Board of Directors as described in the pre-contract starts notes.
  • Management of direct labour including where necessary external resources/sub-contract labour to ensure contracts/jobs are completed to the required client timescale maintaining compliance with all quality and safety requirements.
  • Record by letter/email any delay caused by a client/main-contractor and advising cost implications which should be finalised obtaining written agreements.
  • Contact/visit site ensure the openings/access are fully available and site are aware of attendance.
