Post: Consultant in Public Health Medicine/Consultant in Public HealthPost Location: Department of Public Health Kirklands HQ G71 8BBDescription:A rare opportunity has arisen in NHS Lanarkshire for a full time/part time* permanent Consultant in Public Health Medicine/Consultant in Public Health. The new appointee will join a department comprising Director of Public Health, 7 Consultants and a wider Public Health team.*working hours are negotiable.Within the UK, Lanarkshire is situated in the heart of Scotlands central belt, the area offers an ideal combination of tranquil parks and market towns, with something for everyone.In delivering the strategic objectives the post holder will be expected to demonstrate expertise in the full range of relevant competencies as set out by the Faculty of Public Health. The postholder will be responsible for change and improvement in the agreed areas of work and for supporting the priorities and objectives of NHS Lanarkshire to take the steps is considers necessary to improve the health of its population. This will include taking a key role in the management of the current COVID-19 pandemic, including Track/Trace/Isolate Programme and Public Health Scotland’s response over the coming months.The remit, although negotiable, includes a Lead role for some of the Population Screening programmes and Cancer.
