Caring for Defence Estate and those that depend on it, enabling Defence to live, work, train and deploy We are looking for an experienced Commercial or Construction professional with a background in projects and construction. Would you like to be a part of team focused on supporting and delivering a £1.6bn Clyde Infrastructure Programme (CIP) over a period of 10-15 years. The projects range from standalone build to major refurbishment type works in both Faslane and Coulport at HMNB Clyde Naval Base. Still interested You should be! You will support the strategic relationship with suppliers and senior internal stakeholders while building collaboration within and across organisational boundaries. You will support key sourcing activities to meet project goals while minimising risk and ensuring TCO is considered. You will be accountable for ensuring adherence to and conformity with all agreed DIO processes and operating procedures, and particularly those which are detailed under the key infrastructure process for commercial and relate to end to end project management. That will provide a resilient and efficient infrastructure support across the MOD’s estate. LocationThis role will be based in Glasgow Kentigern House with expectation to travel to HM Clyde base 1 to 2 days per week.ResponsibilitiesMain Responsibilities• Provide input to Commercial Strategy and associated contracting strategy as required. • Support commercial relationships with suppliers, with a principal objective of achieving optimal cost and performance. • Undertake end to end Procurement and contract management in NEC3 NEC4 environment. • Create strong working relationships within own team as well as other parts of the Commercial function across DIO and beyond across MOD. • Comply with regulations and policy affecting procurement and adopt commercial best practice. • Support fundamentals of sourcing and supplier engagement activities including tendering, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation and negotiations. • Collaborate with members of the team including project, technical, finance and specialist staff, to deliver Customer requirements. • Maintain auditable records of commercial activities Essential Requirements• Due to local security and clearance restrictions there is a requirement for a UK Nationals only for this post • Candidate must have a UK driving licence Essential Experience & Skills• Excellent, analytical, written and verbal communication skills. • 3+ years of relevant experience ideally with a background in projects and construction. • Knowledge of NEC 3 & 4 contracting or similar models • Passionate self-starter with ability to support multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Experience & Skills:• Extensive knowledge of the basic types of commercial agreement structures and the function and purpose of key legal terms. • Experience working in a large, highly matrixed organisation. • Qualification: MCIPS 4 or willing to work to MCIPS level 4 • Skill: NEC 3/4 experience Experience of cost build up Experience in conducting negotiation • Experience: Experience working in a large, highly matrixed organisationLicencesDriving licence essential due to remote location of site and limited if any public transportation <strong
