Job Description

First Achieves Engineering Division are recruiting for 2 CNC Machinists (Turner) to be based around the Glasgow aera. This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and forward-thinking business that is heavily involved with the Oil & Gas industries.As a CNC Machinists, you will set and operate CNC Lathes (programme when required), ensuring all components are produced to customer drawing specifications and are produced safely and efficiently.The role requires to work 39 hours per week, Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm, Friday 8:00am - 1:00pm.Salary is in the region of £14.50 - 16.00 per hour, plus company pension & OVERTIME.Role

  • Accurately create programmes when required.
  • Undertake any off-set or programme changes as required, to ensure component compliance.
  • Ensure machine routings and processes are running at optimum efficiencies.
  • Ensure all components in production are accompanied by the appropriate documentation at all times and ensuring this documentation is kept up to date.
  • Liaise with Team Leader and or MSS to ensure work is completed on time, highlighting any issues that may arise at the earliest opportunity.
  • Ensure the work area is kept tidy and organised at all times and general housekeeping maintained to comply with the companys Health & Safety policies.
  • Ensure accurate daily recording of labour hours through Internal Operating Bookings System & other appropriate documentation
  • Support, train and advise other employees when required to ensure all operations are carried out efficiently and accurately to customer specifications.
  • Any other duties the company requires to be carried out.
Requirements
  • Time Served Turner (or Equivalent experience).
  • Must have a good understanding of engineering drawings and ability to work to tight tolerances.
  • Setting and operating CNC Vertical Borers Experience (preferred not essential).
  • Good spoken and written communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Able to understand machinery instructions.
  • Efficiency - able to work quickly and efficiently, without supervision.
  • Problem solving - able to react quickly and solve minor problems.
  • Record keeping - able to complete accurate production records.
  • Team Player.
  • Self-Motivated.
