Sr Java Developer Glasgow As a Barclays Trading Controls Sr Java Developer, you will be joining Markets Technology team within Chief Operating Office area. In your new role, you will be instrumental in implementing the Design, Build and Delivery of high level Tech solution for CMA applicationsuite. This is a great opportunity for you to work on strategic Technology work streams and provide Level 3 Support, promptly respond to Live escalations from Run the Bank (RTB) teams and/or Business Operational teams. What will you be doing • Designing and Building Tech solutions for CMA IT deliveries • Having Hands-on Developing and overall development planning accountabilities i.e., Effort estimation by providing development timelines to Project Managers/Leads • Making decisions with respect to development scope, timelines, quality, and risk and communicate all decisions to the PM/Leads and escalate issues in a timely manner • Identifying development scope from project documentation, liaising with business and PM in order to understand the scope of development • Working closely with Business Analysts to ensure appropriate coverage and discover any loopholes • Ensuring functionality is developed against requirements, validate that the solution is fit for purpose and supports the full end-to-end client business processes • Aligning activities to strategic goals of the programme and the firm such as Agile, DevOps, Lean, etc • Working closely with Run the Bank (RTB) and Operational teams - resolve business queries and providing assistance and full support during Level 3 escalations What were looking for: • Ability to manage and deliver changing requirements in a highly dynamic environment • Good experience in Cloud technology (OpenShift etc) • Good experience of regulatory projects (particularly in the areas of Operations) • Knowledge of Investment Banking processes and Operations Skills that will help you in the role: • Solid experience in Java and related technologies, Multithreading, Memory management and handling high volumes of data processing • Excellent Enterprise Java, Frameworks, Web Services, SQL and Interface Technology knowledge • SQL, PL/SQL experience is mandatory • Database experience is required, knowledge of RDBMS SQL Server is preferred Where will you be working Our new state-of-the-art Campus, right in the heart of Glasgow is a hub of creative collaboration.
