The Glasgow and Clyde Adult Eating Disorder Service is a service that meets the complex needs of adults with moderate to severe eating disorders. It is a multidisciplinary psychological service consisting of practitioners from psychiatry, clinical psychology, nursing, dietetics, and occupational therapy.This is a full time post in a specialist service for a fixed term of one year. This is a good opportunity to gain experience in a specialist service. Alongside consolidating clinical experience with complex cases across outpatient and inpatient facilities within GG&C, there are ample opportunities to be involved in strategic service change as part of the five year mental health strategy.The post holder will provide a highly specialist clinical psychology approach within a team treating patients suffering from moderate to severe eating disorders across Greater Glasgow and Clyde. The post holder will be required to provide assessment, formulation, treatment and management of patients in individual and group settings.Other key responsibilities include supervising and supporting the psychological assessment, treatment and management provided by other clinical members of the team, and offering consultation, supervision and training within the team. The post holder will also be required to provide consultation and training to multidisciplinary staff working with individuals with eating disorders within community and inpatient settings across Greater Glasgow and Clyde.The post holder will be required to utilise research skills for audit, research and service development and to provide clinical and professional supervision to trainees undertaking Doctoral training. The post holder is required to work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.Postgraduate doctoral training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) and eligibility for Chartered status within the British Psychological Society as well as registration with the Health and Care Professions Council is essential. The post holder should have at least 18 months experience working as a qualified clinical psychologist and have experience of working with a wide variety of client groups across the whole life course and presenting with the full range of clinical severity. They should demonstrate evidence of experience or interest working with patients with eating disorders.
