Job Description

Job Title: Claims Handler Job Location: Glasgow City Centre - Hybrid options available Job Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum About the role:The Claims Handler Role will be part of the team that is responsible for handling Public and Employee claims on behalf of various clients. Claims Handlers need to provide a quality, proactive, 360 claims service on behalf of important clients and in accordancewith the insurers claims handling philosophy.Duties and Responsibilities: * Establish if cover is in place for the claim * Record all claims on the digital claims handling system * Investigate all liability claims either from the desk or by instructing loss adjusters * Make the decision on liability * Negotiate settlement of the claim * Ensure compliance with all legal timescales and client SLAs * Build relationships with external clients and stakeholders * Provide referral support to less experienced colleagues Skills & Experience: * Experience of policy wording and terms and conditions * Knowledge of insurance and the insurance market * Knowledge of how to value an injury claim * Knowledge of reserving philosophies desirable * Knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and the Claims Portal * Good communications skills at all levels * Excellent customer service * The ability to work as part of a team * Take responsibility for your own workload * Must be able demonstrate adaptability and flexibility * Good planning and organisational skills * Strong IT skills Benefits:* Competitive salary * Company laptop and equipment provided * Pension scheme* Discount platform; for thousands of retailers * 25 days Holiday Excluding Bank HolidaysSearch is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
