Development and Delivery for a Category Management Strategy for direct goods in a technical/engineering environment which will deliver cost and efficiency savingsClient DetailsOur Industrial client have undertaken a strategic review of the Procurement function and are now seeking experienced Category Managers with experience of delivering Category Management strategies for direct materials and services within a project build environment.DescriptionReporting directly to the Head of Procurement you will work with business customers to identify areas where strategic procurement can deliver cost effective solutions for the organisation.Responsibilities.Develop category methodology, plans and strategies to deliver commercial benefits for the organisationDevelopment of a Strategic Sourcing methodology and approach that delivers against overall category strategyProvide support, advice and guidance for business stakeholders to ensure excellence in contractual/purchasing matters.Lead and support supplier negotiations focusing on the commercial elements of the projectDevelop a regular Governance and reporting framework for each project to demonstrate delivery against the agreed savings targetImplement an appropriate Supplier Management approach, provide ongoing Supplier Performance Management and Supplier Relationship Management for key suppliersSupport key business strategies and projects associated with any category and the management of RFI/RFQ processes and activities in support of these strategies and projectsAssist with the development of team members, ensuring adequate skills development, training and succession planningProfileExperience of developing and delivery category management and strategic sourcing strategiesTeam Management and developmentStrong engagement skills with experience of presenting at a senior level both internally and to external customers and SuppliersDemonstrable track record in the delivery of YOY savings targets and identifying commercial opportunities within an organisationExcellent interpersonal, communication and analytic skillsExcellent negotiation skills, problem solving and contracts skillsJob OfferOpportunity to develop your career in team management, engagement with key business stakeholders and be part of a growing team Required skills
