Location: Aberdeen, Glasgow, Inverness, or PerthSalary: £32,000 - £49,000 depending on skills and experience + car/cash allowance + annual bonusWorking Pattern: Permanent | Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns availableOur RoleAs Cable Project Engineer you will provide technical support across multiple projects. This will include developing scope and specifications for new cable designs as well as modification to existing cable and electrical systems. You will also be responsible for reviewing contractor/consultants detailed designs and witness FAT. You will support field teams to ensure quality of installations and you will evaluate tenders and scope and, procure and manage specialist services from consultants.Your Skills and ExperienceThe ideal candidate for this role will have a degree or HNC in a relevant Engineering discipline or relevant experience to this role. You should have a good awareness of the technical functions in Transmission along with an appreciation of legal and regulatory obligations and LCP governance and engineering processes. You will understand legislation and the implications for the Transmission network management for both Assets and Projects, including CDM & ESQCR.With the ability to determine critical technical issues and prioritise them, you must be a problem solver with strength of character and excellent communication skills to ensure critical matters are addressed by the project teams.Our CompanyAt Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN), our skilled teams operate and maintain our electricity distribution and transmission networks, carrying electricity to over 3.7 million homes across the north of the Central Belt of Scotland and Central Southern England.Transmission operates under licence as Scottish Hydro Electric (SHE) Transmission plc, responsible for the transmission of electricity in the north of Scotland. We own and maintain the 132kV, 275kV and 400kV electricity transmission network in our licence area.
