Job Description

What the role is:The role of Bond Manager is significant to the success of our operation in Glasgow. This role requires a results driven manager, responsible for maximising profit, sustaining customer relationships and creating and maintaining an effective and productive team.What you’ll be doing will include:

  • Liaising with the Operations Manager to develop forecasts and budget targets which support unit operational plans
  • Plan and organise unit activities to meet scheduled targets utilising the identified best practice tools
  • Develop and implement operational plans, ensuring contingency plans are developed and reviewed for effectiveness
  • Ensure all forecasts reflect schedules in line with the information management system
  • Monitor and review unit performance and individual process performance on a daily, weekly and monthly basis using the management information. Ensure that action plans are initiated and reviewed, communicating issues and resolutions as required to ensure costs are controlled
  • Provide your Operations Manager with periodic reports regarding the unit and performance
  • Ensure the unit team contributes positively to achieving an expected level of internal and external customer service, including national accountability for airline account
  • Attend meetings with customers and ensure that the management team are acquainted with knowledge regarding operating processes and all issues are dealt with promptly
  • Implement any changes in customer requirements, advising the Operations Manager of cost implications
  • Ensure all category A incidents are investigated maintaining positive communication with appropriate customer personnel and corrective actions agreed
  • Ensure network performance for key airlines and local airlines is maximised
  • Provide periodic reports for both customer and internal use
  • Review service reports effectively communicating issues and agreeing and monitoring action plans
  • Ensure best practice is enforced and unit wide compliance to legislative, customer and company standards
  • Monitor performance against compliance and ensure corrective action plans are introduced and reviewed as required
  • Ensure improvements are initiated and communicated when compliance is not met including the use of training
  • Establish and maintain an effective communication link between HMC&E and dnata
  • Ensure HMC&E requests and changes are communicated throughout the network
  • Developing ability to set policy nationally at one location
  • Developing best practice that supports dnata’s capability to maximise its commercial position with regard to customs requirements and drive continuous improvement
  • Undertake a review of achievement of agreed business objectives and action plans as required, including undertaking an annual appraisal with each direct report, creating the succession plan as required
  • Ensure that current and future recruitment needs are met
  • What you’ll have will include:
  • People management skills, e.g. dealing with performance issues, grievances, holidays and absence management
  • Ability to plan, organise and delegate
  • Must be methodical and logical in their approach to work with high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Computer literate, able to manipulate data
  • Communication Skills – must be able to communicate at all levels
  • An understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Food Hygiene certificate and or IOSH
  • Working knowledge of WMS
  • Experience/ knowledge of Materials Control processes
  • Current Airline Security Certification
  • Knowledge of HMC&E regulations
