Job Description

Azure Cloud Engineer - Building Cloud Platforms - GlasgowAvanti Recruitment is working with a leading Data Analytics company to recruit an Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join their Platform team in Glasgow.You will be responsible for the build and management of their cloud infrastructure which will includes OS, databases, virtual networks, AzureAD, monitoring and automation of processes through scripting. We are particulary interest to hear from you if youhave at least 2 years experience in building Azure Cloud platforms and can write scripts in PowerShell.You will build and maintain their Azure Cloud platform focussing on resilience and optimising its performance through operational support of systems, networks, storage, security, or automation incidents /requests.In this role will

  • Oversee day-to-day systems administration activities including maintenance, backup, availability and performance monitoring.
  • Build and deploy new Azure Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Improving operations through automation
  • Administer and coordinate changes with the Platform, Support and Development Teams.
  • Manage their cloud-hosted solutions with your knowledge of VMs, DNS, Virtual Networking and automation tools.
To be successful it is likely you will have experience:
  • Building Azure cloud infrastructure (2-3+ years ideally)
  • Microsoft Azure services in production environments, such as: Azure AD, VMs, Azure Monitor, Azure Backup, KeyVault, Azure Storage, Azure Security Center
  • Scripting experience (PowerShell, Azure CLI, Resource Graph Query etc.)
  • Sysadmin experience with Windows
  • Some database administration
This is going to be a great role for a Mid-Level Azure Cloud Engineer who is looking for the opportunity to gain skills and exposure in other cutting edge technologies such as:
  • Infrastructure as code development - Terraform
  • Serverless Technologies (e.g. Kubernetes/Docker etc)
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools such as GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy, ARM, Terraform
