Job Description

NonStop Consulting is currently hiring on behalf of UKs leading site investigation, contaminated land and geotechnical consultancy an Associate Director to join the companys geosciences department in Central Scotland.Working alongside an experienced team based UK-wide, you will get involved with a wide variety of geotechnical projects covering sectors including energy infrastructure, renewables (solar/ wind) and development/ regeneration projects.As a senior member of the team you will be expected to lead or assist in the delivery of geotechnical projects and will therefore be able to demonstrate strong technical, commercial and project management capabilities. It is expected that employees workingat this grade will have a keen project finance awareness, be client facing, self-motivated, exhibit a proactive approach, and work well within a team environment.This is a permanent role and while the primary team is based out of the Glasgow office, there are opportunities to be based in either Edinburgh or Stirling offices for which hybrid working may be considered as well.Based on the companys current workload and client base there are ample opportunities to develop within this role and to assist in managing their growing team . Overall this is a great opportunity for career growth and professional development.The requirements for this role are the following :

  • BEng or BSc or equivalent in Civil, Geology or Geotechnical Engineering or similar is essential
  • Further degree in Soil/Rock Mechanics, Engineering Geology, Geotechnics or equivalent is preferable but not essential
  • Chartered Engineer/Geologist with a relevant professional body (e.g. CGeol, CEng, RoGEP).
  • Experienced geotechnical engineer with at least ten years of working in a geotechnical/ engineering consultancy environment
  • Strong technical, commercial and project management capabilities
  • Practical experience in design, supervision and management of geotechnical site investigations
  • A thorough understanding of geology, ground investigation works, engineering geology and geotechnical engineering
  • Computer literate and skilled with Microsoft Office applications, in particular Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience of using Microsoft Project also valuable.
  • Full UK driving licence.
