Job Description

Are you an experienced Assistant Accountant who is looking for more flexibility and a better work life balance I am delighted to bring this fantastic opportunity to the market. Salary up to £30k depending on experience. Fully remote!Reporting to the Financial Controller, this is a fantastic role for a finance professional looking to develop, who is able to multitask and assist in a variety of bookkeeping duties, willing to go the extra mile to get the job done.My client is looking fora motivated individual with great attention to detail who thrives in an entrepreneurial and fast paced team environment.The client is a rapidly growing technology company who are extremely forward thinking and are offering remote working. The role will be instrumental in the day to day functioning of the finance department with the opportunity to develop and contribute to thefuture development of the company.Responsibilities:

  • Assist with cash management
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Posting sales and purchase invoices and journal entries on Xero
  • Preparation of monthly payment runs
  • Credit control
  • PayrollUK, US and Europe
  • Management of Accounts mailbox
  • Review of staff expenses
  • Calculation of prepayments, accruals, accrued income and deferred income
  • Assist in the preparation of the month end management accounts and KPIs
  • Analysis
  • Calculation, reconciliation, and online submission of VAT returns
  • Assist with US sales tax and other reporting requirements
  • Other ad-hoc bookkeeping/accounts assistance duties
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Thorough knowledge of double entry book-keeping principles and procedures
  • Transactional finance experience including AR invoicing, AP and Credit Control
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Ability to work well on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Ideally experience working in an SME environment
  • Attention to detail and problem solving
  • Qualified or Part Qualified accountantAAT/ACCA/CIMA or looking to study towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA
  • Experience of using Xero
  • Beneficial to have experience of preparing/reconciling VAT returns and PAYE accounts
  • Able to develop excellent relationships with other team members within the business
