Job Description

Foodbank Administrator/CoordinatorIntroduction The Everlasting Foodbank aims to run a food bank and associated services for the prevention and relief of poverty for the benefit of those in need by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship and other disadvantage in the East End ofGlasgow and the local surrounding areas.Location: 12 Whitehill Street Dennistoun Glasgow G31 2LJAccountable to: The Everlasting Foodbank Management CommitteeContract: 3 months subject to further fundingRate: £11.00p/h for up to 13hours a week worked on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.Job Description The central role of the Foodbank Administrator/Coordinator is to deliver the food bank and drop - in service, with the support of Everlasting Food Bank Management CommitteeThe key tasks of the Foodbank Administrator/Coordinator are to:

  • Liaise with other agencies to provide services to those accessing the food
  • Manage drop-in service
  • Organise workshops for the local community,
  • Monitor the project,
  • Represent the project in local and city - wide forums
  • Providing other services incl. information, advice, signposting of foodbank users
  • Recruit, train and involve the local community as volunteers
  • Manage a food home delivery service
  • Stock keeping and management
  • Carry out any other tasks as may be required to support The Everlasting Food Bank
  • Advertise and create awareness of foodbank services on social media, networking with similar organisations etc
  • Manage donations pickup
  • Other Admin tasks related to foodbank services
Skills and experience required: Essential Experience of working with community groups and volunteersExcellent communication skills, organisational and interpersonal skillsAbility to work unsupervised, managing time efficiently to complete all required duties within the contracted hoursAbility to record and analyse written and numerical dataAbility to work in a teamExperience of using social media for advertisements/awareness of services etcReport writing experienceEvent management/experience of delivering training and facilitating eventsDesirable Community Learning and Development qualifications and experienceTraining and experience in food handlingExperience in managing volunteersExperience of working with partners in voluntary and public sectors to deliver projectsFull UK drivers licence
