Job Description

Accounts Senior - Accountancy PracticeGlasgow Salary up to 26K (DOE) + Study Support AvailableLusona Consultancy are working with an award winning, small family owned and managed professional Practice in Glasgow for the role of Accounts Senior (AAT qualified and above). The firm have a particular specialism in providing accounting services for those within the 3rd sector (e.g.registered charities, social enterprises etc). This a unique opportunity for an individual to join a close-knit team, where you will be given direct responsibility for a range of clients (an aspect that is not always readily available within larger firms at such an early stage).You will be allocated your own portfolio of clients, managing the end-to-end process. You will adopt a full partnering relationship accordingly, where your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing desktop and cloud-based accounting systems implementation and support, as well as remote bookkeeping (by use of Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, KashFlow and FreshBooks)
  • Completing month-end procedures (bank and balance sheet reconciliations, VAT returns)
  • Preparing management information - budgeting, management accounts and cash flow forecasting
  • Assisting with preparing annual accounts
  • Preparing personal and corporation tax computations and returns
    • The successful candidate will be minimum of AAT qualified, with minimum 10 months experience within Accountancy Practice, having had previous experience of managing your own clients.You will be confident in the use of IRIS Accountancy Software, as well as the use of Cloud Based Accounting Software (Sage One/Business Cloud Accounting). It is also desirable that you have experience of completing personal and corporate tax returns.Above all, you will be a strong communicator who enjoys building and maintaining valued client relationships, alongside meeting their individual deadlines.In return, the firm will offer a salary of up to £26K (DOE) + study support for an ambitious individual who has the desire to progress within the Accountancy profession. The firm have a very supportive and unique team environment, where working hours are 9am-5pm (4 days per week), with the office being closed the other day.
