The role is full time across three-night shifts on a rolling rota across the week (33 hours per week). Some additional shifts will be required from time to time to cover sickness and holidays.We are looking for an experienced care assistant to join our team and become a night shift team leader at The Chesters Care Home in Low Fell, Gateshead, where we provide care and support for up to 33 residents. We are looking for someone who has a caring natureand is willing to work as part of the night shift care team to ensure the care home maintains excellent standards of care and support. This is a full-time and permanent position.Responsibilities: To assist in the provision of care and work as part of a team to achieve required standards. To help train junior members of staff in all aspects of their work in the home. To promote person centred care planning within the home and ensure that care plans are reviewed and updated regularly to reflect residents needs. To maintain and monitor the health and welfare of service users and ensure that each person receives care appropriate to their individual needs. Carry out the administration of medication to Clients on each shift in accordance with your accredited training and as prescribed by G.P.s. Answer the Nurse Call System, giving assistance as required. Answer the door and telephone appropriately, greet visitors, respond accordingly and pass on all messages promptly.Care Assistant - Experience, qualifications & skills: Hold the relevant Vocational Qualification needed for the position, NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care (preferred) Genuine interest in working within a caring environment Strong team leadership and negotiation skills Team player with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels Satisfactory DBS Check and references Relevant experience of leading a team in a care environmentExperience of the following an advantage: Senior Care Assistant, medication administration, care planningDisclosure: The successful candidate will be required to apply for an enhanced disclosure from the relevant body.No agencies please.
