Job Description

Job Title: Senior Backend Developer - PHPLocation: SunderlandFully Remote Working or HybridSalary: Negotiable Up to £75kOur client is a Software Business based in Sunderland, North East England. Theyre looking to hire a Lead or Senior PHP Developer to play a vital role in their most important crew. They offer both fully remote working and hybrid working and can offer anoffice-base in any one of five locations UK-wide (Sunderland, Sheffield, Nottingham, London East, London West).As a business they are on a constant path of innovation and discovery, not shy of adopting innovative technology and building software solutions that can scale securely. They have exciting objectives and aspirations and need an equallyinspired individual to join them on their journey.Roles and Responsibilities:Working with Laravel and other current technologies, the successful candidate will be developing technical, bespoke platforms and web applications. Youll also be contributing to new cutting-edge features for our custom web-2-print platform handling in excessof 9,000 orders per month.Tech Stack:

  • Laravel 6 / Laravel Spark / Laravel Nova
  • MySQL / Postgres databases
  • Atlas
  • Docker
  • Gitlab
  • CI/CD
  • Redis

  • React
Required Skills:
  • Laravel 5/6 experience (or similar framework such a Symfony)
  • Experience in building complex systems from scratch
  • Good Object Oriented and MVC practices
  • Experience in building and using REST APIs
  • Excellent knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB and other RDBMS systems
  • Experience using git or other version control systems
  • Test driven development
Nice to Haves:
  • Ability to mentor other developers within the team
  • Working knowledge of Linux server administration (CentOS & Ubuntu)
  • Knowledge of administering AWS
  • Experience working with Docker and containerisation technologies
  • Knowledge of writing bash scripts
  • Knowledge of CI/CD systems
  • Experience in Codeigniter (to migrate legacy projects to Laravel)
  • React / VueJS experience
