GATESHEAD HEALTH NHS FOUNDATION TRUSTCLINICAL SUPPORT & SCREENING DIVISIONRADIOLOGY DEPARTMENTBand 5 RadiographerPermanent 37.5 hoursAn opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic, diligent radiographer’s to join the friendly, dedicated team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead. The Radiology department is committed to providing the highest quality service to all its users and has a fully implemented seven day working across its services to meet the Government’s vision for the NHS. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape how Radiology delivers these services in modern, well equipped surroundings. We have recently installed 2 new plain film x-ray rooms in our Emergency Care Centre. The department is fully digital and has a robust equipment replacement programme.You will support the delivery of a high quality diagnostic service in the Emergency Care Centre (24/7) and across a number of modalities including plain imaging, theatre and portables. Radiology services are also provided at our satellite site at Blaydon.Good communication, interpersonal and I.T skills (including use of radiology information system) are essential. You must also have previous NHS experience either as a student or as a qualified radiographer.The department drives quality improvement and has a designated Quality Lead.Anyone applying for a position which involves a regulated activity will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and that the disclosure will, where appropriate to the role, include information against the Independent Safeguarding Authority barred lists for working with children or working with adults or both.Applications are invited from students who will be suitably qualified and experienced Diagnostic Radiographers who satisfy the essential criteria of the Person Specification. Until HCPC registered candidates may be appointed as an Assistant Practitioner.
