Job Description

Our client is leading facilities management company and are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join their existing team. For this role you can either be based at Gateshead or Leeds, it will involve travel between both sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing sub-contractor / supplier qualityprocedures; review of MQPs (Manufacturing Quality Plan), expedite and inspect surveillance manufactured / supplied items.This is a great opportunity to join a well-established company with some fantastic benefits, they have been established since the 1800s and have some long-standing relationships throughout the rail, ports and MoD / Defence sector.Quality Engineer Responsibilities:

  • Compile internal CCM MQP for machining, assembly, fabrication and painting etc to meet project quality requirements and monitor the manufacturing quality plans.
  • Visit customer / supplier and intercompany sites when needed around the UK.
  • Expedite and review verifying documentation eg certificates, reports etc.
  • Compile formal manufacturing lifetime quality records to pre-determine requirements for customer review and acceptance.
  • Assist in other areas of the QA / QC department as directed by line manager.
Quality Engineer Applicant Requirements:
  • Understanding and working knowledge of quality plans and how to execute
  • Knowledge and experience of required certification i.e Material, NDT, Painting and Welding certification.
  • Working knowledge of relevant British Standards.
  • Working knowledge of engineering drawings.
Quality Engineer Benefits:
  • £30,000 - £35,000 depending on experience.
  • 25 annual holidays plus 8 bank holidays.
